How to reach us
By car or train, how to easily get to the Alpino Hostel.
Located at the gates of Bormio, the Alpino Hostel can be reached by car or by public transport. It is 200 kilometers from Milan and 30 kilometers from Tirano (the nearest railway station). But there are several means of transport during the winter season.
By car
From Milan, take the northern ring road following the "Cinisello Balsamo - Lecco" exit. Continue on SS36 and then SS38 in the direction of "Sondrio/Valtellina". Go past Morbegno, Sondrio, and Tirano and continue towards Bormio for another 30 minutes.
By train
The nearest train station is Bormio Tirano, about 30 km from Bormio. The bus service to Bormio is in the square in front of the station. The trip is approximately 40 minutes.

During the winter there is a “Mountain Train” available directly from Milan, Monza, and Lecco, and takes people to the ski resorts of Valtellina on weekends, with the Tirano-Bormio bus included in the ticket price as well as the Bormio ski pass. By bus
During the winter (from 27 November 2010 to 25 April 2011) the transport company MTBus organizes direct buses from the airports Bergamo Orio al Serio (cost 25 euros) and Milan Malpensa (cost 30 euros) with several daily trips.
